About the Status Bar

The status bar appears at the top of the screen.

Notification icons appear on the left end of the status bar. Notification icons appear for alerts or for ongoing applications. You can open the notification window to view notification details.

Status icons appear at the right end of the status bar.

The following status icons may appear:

—cell signal strength. The more colored bars that appear, the stronger the signal. If there are no bars, a red slash appears.

—data service connectivity. This icon appears when your device is connected to your network data service. White means the connection is in use. Gray means the connection is available but not in use. The following connection types may appear: G—GPRS (2.5), E—Edge (2.75), 3G—3G (3.0). The arrows below the connection type turn green to indicate that your device is sending or receiving data.

—Wi-Fi connectivity. This icon appears when your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network.

—your device is synchronizing data.

—current time. The time is based on the location of the device or on the selected time zone.

—an alarm is enabled.

—satellite signal strength. See Check GPS Signals for more information.

Airplane Mode is activated.

TTY (teletypewriter) mode is activated.

Bluetooth wireless technology is enabled. Your device is not connected to another device.

—your device is connected to another device using Bluetooth wireless technology.

—battery life.
